In the developing world, animal’s rights and health became important subject thus nourishments of cat became more important then the past.
There are lots of nourishment brands which are domestic and imported for cats such as iams, micho, bonacibo, kitycat, royal canin, Whiskas and so on. Iams is an imported product and it is seem first class nourishment and so its price is more than the other domestic products. Although its high price iams is one of the high quality product and because of its quality iams has big share in the market.
On the other hand there are lots of cheap and low-quality nourishments. Whiskas is the one of these products and it is preferred by the customers. Let’s look how it works?
When this brand launched in the market there was a few brands to compete and it announced it brand as a first class in spite of its low-quality. However, so many domestic and imported products launched to market in the following time, because of it Whiskas became thinking about strategic plans to promote its nourishment. First of all, they used promotional strategy such as sending gift to cats in the Christmas, and buy 1 get 1 promotions. As well they put their brand in the shopping centers to make their brand well-known. And other important modifying for Whiskas, they reduced their price at the same level of low quality nourishment. To sum up it works, they got good place in the shopping centers with their low price and they have customer groups which buys their product regularly. Then it shows that Whiskas reached its real value in terms of market segments.
